In his remarks, the National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Dr. Yusuf Dantalle, described the Anambra governorship election as a litmus test for the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, who is expected to have fully assumed office by the time the election is held.
Dantalle also revealed that IPAC had submitted far-reaching electoral reform proposals to the National Assembly which include the scrapping of State Independent Electoral Commissions (SIECs) and transferring the responsibility for conducting local government elections to INEC, among other recommendations.
