IGP Egbetokun Disburses ₦2.17b Insurance Cheques To Families Of 1,574 Fallen Police Officers

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has disbursed insurance cheques totaling 2,171,124,000 naira to the families of 1,574 fallen heroes of the Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking at the Force Headquarters in Abuja during the official ceremony, IGP Egbetokun stated that the gathering served as a demonstration of the Force’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its personnel—both living and deceased.

He said the event reaffirms that the Nigeria Police Force does not abandon its personnel.

The Police boss Egbetokun extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and assured them that the welfare of police officers whether serving, retired, or departed remains a cardinal priority of his administration.

Also speaking at the event, the Force Insurance Officer, Ameh Lydia, described the ceremony as a clear testament to the Inspector General’s dedication to backing his words with meaningful action.

The event concluded with the formal disbursement of welfare insurance cheques to the beneficiaries and next-of-kin of the deceased officers.
The cheques also included recoveries of long outstanding claims,some which had been pending for nearly a decade.
