Group demands Sack Of NMDPRA CEO Over Alleged Financial Infractions.
Over one hundred lawyers and members of civil society organizations (CSOs), have called for the immediate suspension of the Executive officer of the Nigerian Midstream and downstream petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Engineer Farouk Ahmed.
The group in a protest held in Abuja at the office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation accused Engr. Ahmed of alleged abuse of office.
Addressing the protesters, the leader of the group Bar. Aquila Kendo alleged that Ahmed misappropriated $5 million to fund his children’s education outside the country.
Other allegations raised by the group includes his son’s relationship with Oando plc, a company regulated by NMDPRA.
They demanded Ahmed’s suspension and prosecution if found guilty of the allegations.
