The Federal Government has disclosed plans to recruit 10,000 agro rangers to provide security for farmers across the country.
Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo who gave the indication at the 5th ministerial briefing in Abuja, the agro rangers will help protect farmers against malicious destruction of farmlands as well as check the worrying trend of farmer herders’ conflict.
Tunji-Ojo reassured the public that the administration of President Bola Tinubu would continue to prioritise the protection of lives and property, with further efforts planned to bolster security for agricultural communities across Nigeria.
The Minister further used the opportunity to highlight achievements recorded by some of the paramilitary organizations under his supervision.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris in his remarks said the 2025 ministerial briefing serves as a platform for ministers of the President Tinubu led government to update citizens on the progress and achievements under their stewardship.
