FG Harps On Private Sector Investment In MSME’s As ITF Graduates 6,670 Trainees.

About 6,670 Women and Youths from across 24 states and the federal capital territory have graduated from the National skills acquisition programme of the Industrial Training Fund, ITF.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the programme organised in collaboration with the Nigerian Breweries in Abuja, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite restated the federal government commitment to reposition the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for global competitiveness, through implementation of policies and programmes that will create favourable climate for both local and foreign investors.

Represented by the Director Industry Development in the ministry, John Opaluwa, the minister said the agenda is tailored towards increasing women participation in enterprise development,promote youth inclusion as well as reduce the formal and informal sector gap.

Earlier, in his welcome remarks, the Director General ITF Dr. Afiz Ogun, represented by a director on the Fund, James Abimbola said the NISDP remains the most viable and sustainable solution to rising unemployment and poverty that have continued to defy the best efforts of governmental and non-governmental approaches.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director Nigerian Breweries, Hans Essaadi, also represented by the Cooperate Director, Folashade Morgan, advised the trainees on the importance of wealth creation as the corporation will continue to partner with government to create value for the nations teeming population.

The high point of the event, was the presentation of certificates and starter packs to the trainees The graduands were trained in several trades including solar power installation, Hair dressing, painting and beauty care..
