The Federal Government is working on a draft National Occupational Standards for Electric Vehicles and Compressed Natural Gas, Auto Gas-powered vehicles in Nigeria.
The Director-General, National Automotive Design and Development Council, Joseph Osanipin disclosed this in Keffi, Nasarawa State at the Validation Workshop for the recently developed National Occupational Standard.
He said the move is to compliment government’s efforts in diversifying the energy mix to Compressed Natural Gas which will create more jobs and wealth for Nigerians.
According to the NADDC boss, the National Occupational Standard has been developed through the collaborative efforts of all relevant stakeholders in the automotive sector.
He however, restated need for training, which would not be possible without appropriate guideline and manual.
