The Defence Headquarters has disclosed plans by Terrorists and their sympathisers to blackmail the military following its onslaught on the insurgents.
Director,Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba gave the indication at a press briefing on military operations across the country held at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
He said the plot is to depict some casualties as innocent citizens rather than cohorts of the terrorist.
General Buba who also reacted to the recent agitation for the Yoruba Nation, warned that bearing firearms against a constituted government is a serious offence.
He further reeled out the success of the military in the period under review, saying 192 terrorists were killed with 341 suspects arrested.
The Defence headquarters however solicited the support of Nigerians in the fight against terrorists and criminal elements and expressed the commitment of the Armed forces and other security agencies to ensure the return of peace to all parts of the country.
