The Defence and Police Officers Wives Association has graduated 63 students from it’s skills Acquisition Centre at the DEPOWA Secretariat, Abuja.
The Centre which was established in furtherance of the associations commitment to empower widows of fallen heroes and vulnerable youths with different vocational skills has so far graduated eleven batches of beneficiaries.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya applauded the efforts of DEPOWA which he noted is inline with his administrations efforts to bring succor and relief to families of heroes who paid the supreme price for the peace and Unity of the country.
Earlier in her remarks, the DEPOWA president, Barr. Vicky Irabor while admonishing the beneficiaries to make appropriate use of the skills they have acquired says mechanism has been put in place to their performance.
Highlights of the event includes presentation of certificates, starter packs, skills exhibition, among others.
