A Former Director, Legal Services in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Grace Taiga has secured bail in the sum of 30 million Naira with one surety in like sum. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is prosecuting Taiga for being an accomplice in the alleged multiple fraud case involving Process and Industrial Development Limited (P&ID). Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court, Abuja who granted the bail ordered that the surety must have a landed property in Abuja. The Judge further ordered Taiga to surrender her International passport and other travel documents to the registrar of the court. The defendant is alleged to have been a key actor in the fraudulent Gas Supply and Processing Agreement between the P&ID and the Nigerian Government. She was re-arraigned on October 7th 2021 by the EFCC on a nine-count amended charge of taking bribes and other related offenses. The case has been adjourned to January 17th 2022 for trial.
