CDOWA, Foodbank Naija Supply Food Items To 450 Women, Wives Of NSCDC Fallen Heroes

The Civil Defence Officers Wives Association, FCT has distributed food items to four hundred and fifty families of CDOWA, including the wives of fallen heroes.

The distribution by the association in collaboration with foodbank naija is to bring succour to the wives and families of men and officers of the NSCDC, FCT command.

Speaking at the food relief intervention programme in Abuja with the theme, “Women and Economic Survival: Creative Paths to Family Sustainability,” Chairperson, CDOWA, Bolanle Olayinka Odumosu, said the gathering is beyond sharing of food stuff but an act of love, unity and community support in diversity.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer, Foodbank Naija, Kingsley Nnadi said the collaboration was part of his organisation’s vision to ensure that no Nigerian goes to bed hungry.

The FCT Mandate Secretary, Adedayo Benjamin and other speakers advised CDOWA to thrive beyond survival by encouraging backyard farming that will not only feed family but the community and the country at large.

High point of the ceremony was the distribution of food items by the Civil Defence Officers Wives Association to the beneficiaries and the presentation of awards to the CDOWA Chairperson as well as the Commandant, NSCDC, FCT Command, Olusola Odumosu for their outstanding performances in touching humanity.
