In line with the Nigeria’s Government drive to ensure that standards are observed in every aspect of life especially goods and services, the agency in charge of standards in the country, Standards Organisation of Nigeria has threatened to prosecute anyone found wanting. The Director General, Osita Aboloma who read the riot act at a stakeholders’ sensitisation workshop on SON ACT 2015 in Abuja said fake and substandard products have cost the country multi billion naira as such will not be condone. Represented by the Regional Coordinator, North Central, Charles Nwagbara, the SON boss said the agency is now empowered to seize and detain products for ninety days as well as prosecute offenders.
