ARCN Reaffirms Commitment To Sustainable Agriculture.

The Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN), Dr. Abubakar Adamu Dabban, has reiterated the Council’s commitment to strengthening agricultural research and promoting sustainable agricultural practices across Nigeria.

Dr. Dabban made this known while outlining the roles and activities of the Council during a familiarization visit to the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA). The visit was organized by the Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology (OFAB) in Africa, Nigeria Chapter, an initiative of the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), under the auspices of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA).

According to a statement by Khadijat O. Ameen, Public Relations Officer to the Executive Secretary, the meeting focused on creating opportunities for CEOs to familiarize themselves with key stakeholders and to provide an overview of roles, responsibilities, and expectations in biosafety management.

She noted that the engagement also aimed to foster effective communication, establish collaborative relationships, and promote a shared understanding of biosafety practices and regulations.

Overall, the meeting served as a platform for addressing concerns and setting the stage for future cooperation toward advancing biosafety and sustainable agricultural development in Nigeria.
