Arase’s Body Leaves Abuja: Police Bid Farewell with Guard of Honour Parade
The Nigerian Police Force held a solemn guard of honour parade in Abuja to bid farewell to the late former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, widely regarded as one of the finest officers in the nation’s history.
At the ceremony, Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, praised Arase as a disciplined leader who guided the Nigeria Police Force with intellect, courage, and vision.
Egbetokun recounted Arase’s significant contributions, highlighting reforms that strengthened professionalism, discipline, and respect for the rule of law within the Force.
The IGP also detailed Arase’s tenure, emphasizing the policy initiatives and far-reaching reforms that left a lasting impact on the police institution.
Also paying tribute, former Commissioner of Police Lawrence Alobi and other dignitaries lauded the legacy Arase left behind, offering heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
The final honour attracted attendance from Deputy Inspectors General of Police, Commissioners of Police, and other senior officers, who all tool turns to praise Arase’s unwavering commitment to national security and his efforts to position the police as a credible service institution for Nigeria.
