As part of efforts to eradicate the scourge of malaria in Nigeria,the Federal Government says plans are on to produce locally made malaria vaccine.
Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire disclosed this at a ceremony to commemorate the 2023 World malaria day in Abuja.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Health, Mahmuda Mamman, the Minister finishing touches are being perfected to ensure the vaccine comply with international best practices.
The Minister also used the opportunity to reel out some of the federal government intervention to change the nations malaria status.
The ceremony was attended by some key stakeholders in the health sector who took turns to speak on the relevance of the annual event.
The Theme for this years celebration is “Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement” and the slogan is “Act now”.
