The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced that its ward level enrolment drive for the National Identification Number (NIN), which began on February 16, 2026, is ongoing and progressing steadily across the country.
In a statement issued by the Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, Kayode Adegoke, the commission reiterated that the NIN remains a critical requirement for accessing essential government services in Nigeria.
Adegoke urged citizens and legal residents who are yet to enrol to take advantage of the decentralised registration exercise by visiting designated ward enrolment centres in their communities.
He advised members of the public to check the NIMC website to locate the nearest enrolment point within their wards, cooperate with enrolment officials, and ensure that accurate information is provided during the registration process.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to achieving inclusive identity coverage nationwide and called on all citizens and residents to turn out in large numbers to register and obtain their National Identification Number.
