Orientation Camps: SERVICOM Commends NYSC For Improved Service Delivery.

The SERVICOM National Office has applauded the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for significant improvements in its service delivery, particularly in the conduct of Orientation Camp activities, including feeding and other welfare services provided to Corps Members.

The SERVICOM National Coordinator, Nnenna Akajemeli, gave the commendation while delivering a keynote address at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Second Quarter Networking Meeting for Desk Officers held in Abuja.

The meeting had as its theme, “Leveraging SERVICOM Principles for Effective and Efficient Service Delivery in NYSC.”

Akajemeli, who was represented by the Head of Operations, SERVICOM, Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, described the NYSC as one of the Federal Government agencies demonstrating strong commitment to quality service delivery and responsiveness to citizens’ needs.

In his remarks, the NYSC Director-General, Olakunle Nafiu, reaffirmed the Scheme’s resolve to sustain and further improve service delivery in line with SERVICOM standards.

Represented by the Director, Reforms Coordination and Service Improvement, Chief Chinwendu Chukwu, the Director-General said the workshop was not a routine exercise but a call to action.

He urged officers to renew their commitment to professionalism, integrity, and strict adherence to SERVICOM principles.

Nafiu described Desk Officers as a critical link between the Scheme and the public, charging them to consistently give their best to ensure optimal service delivery.

He also encouraged participants to continually reassess their engagement with stakeholders, particularly during official interactions, to further strengthen public confidence in the Scheme.

Participants at the workshop were drawn from the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, the Federal Capital Territory, and the 36 state secretariats.
