NUC Approves Ebonyi State University Of Aeronautics And Aerospace Engineering.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of the Ebonyi State University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering, located in Ezza, Ebonyi State.

Presenting the letter of recognition to Governor Francis Nwifuru at a ceremony in Abuja, the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abdullahi Ribadu, reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to supporting the university in achieving its mission.

Professor Ribadu also urged the Ebonyi State Government to ensure equitable attention to all three state-owned institutions and to rotate TETFund interventions among them to maintain standards and promote balanced development.


Representing Governor Nwifuru at the event, Deputy Governor Princess Patricia Obila said the newly approved university is a specialized institution aimed at equipping Nigerians with the technical skills needed in aviation technology and aerospace engineering, both within the state and across the continent.


With this approval, the Ebonyi State University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering becomes the 69th state-owned university in Nigeria, bringing the total number of universities in the country to 300.
