NPF Celebrates 70 Years of Women Policing in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced plans to celebrate seventy years of women’s participation in policing across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Aishatu Abubakar Baju, said the milestone marks not just seven decades of courage and resilience, but also a significant step toward eliminating gender discrimination and promoting inclusivity within the Force.

According to AIG Baju, a series of events and activities have been lined up for December to commemorate the anniversary.

She further emphasized that the celebration reflects a new era in policing one that moves beyond outdated stereotypes.

The Force expressed optimism that the celebration will further highlight and strengthen the recognition of policewomen’s contributions to national security and law enforcement in Nigeria.
