The National Orientation Agency (NOA), under the leadership of its Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu, has received the Award of Excellence in Value Reorientation and Nation-Building.
The honour was conferred by the Centre for Positive Value Reorientation and Advocacy at a public event marking the launch of its new book, Paradise at a Crossroads, held at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Hall, Ilorin.
In a statement issued by Raphael Adeyemi, PhD, Public Relations Officer of the NOA, Kwara State Office, the award was described as a recognition of the Agency’s consistent commitment to promoting national values, civic enlightenment, and unity among Nigerians.
The award was presented by Comrade Abdulwaheed Onikanhun, Registrar of Ahman Pategi University and Executive Director of the Centre for Positive Value Reorientation and Advocacy. He commended the NOA for its role as the government’s foremost agency for communicating public policies, fostering patriotism, and safeguarding Nigeria’s core values.
According to him, the award reflects the visionary leadership of Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu and the dedication of NOA staff nationwide.
“At a time when societal values are under increasing pressure, the NOA has remained a beacon of moral guidance, working tirelessly to reorient citizens and strengthen national cohesion,” Onikanhun said.
He added that the presentation of the award at the book launch was symbolic, as Paradise at a Crossroads contributes to national discourse on values and destiny, a cause championed by the Agency.
In his response, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu expressed appreciation to the Centre for the recognition and dedicated the award to NOA staff across the country for their grassroots engagement and service.
“This award is both an affirmation and a motivation,” he said. “It confirms that our efforts in value reorientation and national rebirth are making impact, and it challenges us to do more.
Our mandate remains to build a Nigeria where citizens are informed, patriotic, and committed to integrity, hard work, and unity.”
He assured that the Agency would continue to pursue its mandate with renewed commitment.
