The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 says there is no scientific basis or evidence to support the deployment of disinfectant tunnels in public places as a way of preventing the spread of the novel Corona Virus Pandemic. The PTF Coordinator, Aliyu Sani who disclosed this in Abuja at a virtual colloquium organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in collaboration with the Nigerian Defence Academy said the disinfectant tunnels and Fumigation of public space is an exercise in futility. He said since there was no scientific evidence on it efficacy in reducing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the exercise was discontinued at the national level.
