Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have dealt a significant blow to Boko Haram’s operational capabilities following a series of successful raids in Adamawa and Borno States. The operations, conducted in coordination with local vigilantes and hunters, resulted in the arrest of a key drone supplier and the neutralization of a field commander.
Key Arrests and Recoveries in Adamawa
In a major breakthrough, troops of Sector 4, under the 28 Task Force Brigade, apprehended 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula at the Madagali Motor Park. Gubula is alleged to be a terrorist collaborator responsible for procuring aerial drones, which the insurgents subsequently arm for use against security forces.
Authorities recovered the following items from the suspect:
- Two aerial drones and various drone accessories.
- 20 solar power banks.
Additionally, troops in the Visik area of Hong Local Government Area arrested 28-year-old Ismail Muhammed, identified as a logistics supplier for the terrorist group. Items found in his possession included an AK-47 magazine, 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements, and assorted foodstuffs.
Combat Successes and Strategic Repulsion
The military also confirmed the death of a terrorist commander, Abdullahi Mafa, who was neutralized during an ambush operation along the Visik River line in Madagali. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered at the scene.
Meanwhile, in Borno State, troops of Sector 2, supported by the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), successfully repelled an insurgent incursion in Ngamdu. During the encounter, troops neutralized a terrorist informant who was attempting to breach defensive positions.
Military Command Commendation
Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for Headquarters JTF (North East), stated that these operations are part of a broader, sustained effort to dismantle insurgent supply networks and restore regional security.
”The Military High Command commends the troops for their sacrifices and dedication in the fight against terrorism, urging them to sustain the current operational tempo,” Uba noted in the official statement.
The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation as the military intensifies its crackdown on Boko Haram’s remaining infrastructure.
