The Nigeria Police Force has decorated eight newly promoted Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, with the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, describing the promotion as recognition of years of dedication and professional service.
Speaking at the decoration ceremony held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the police chief said the elevation of the senior officers was not merely the presentation of new insignia but a major milestone acknowledging decades of commitment to policing and national service.
IGP Disu congratulated the newly promoted officers, noting that their appointment to one of the highest ranks in the police institution reflects their professionalism, leadership capacity and track record of service.
He urged the officers to deploy their experience to strengthen intelligence led policing, improve inter agency collaboration, enhance operational coordination across commands and reinforce accountability within the ranks.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Zachariah Achinya expressed appreciation to the Inspector General for the promotion and pledged that the officers would continue to contribute to strengthening the leadership and effectiveness of the Police Force.
The ceremony was attended by friends and family members of the newly promoted officers, senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force and other stakeholders.
