Nigeria Lacks Accessible, Reliable Data On Trade-In-Service – NEPC

This gathering is a forum by stakeholders in the services sector aimed at coming up with seamless and reliable data on export of services in Nigeria. It is a well known fact that Nigeria is lacking readily accessible and reliable statistics with regards to Trade-in-services. Delivering his keynote address at the Inaugural meeting of the National Consultative Committee on the International Trade-in-services, the Executive Director, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Olusegun Awolowo said the initiative, a trending frontier in the global trade plays an important role in the world economy. Represented by the Director, Product Development, Williams Ezeagu, the NEPC boss emphasis that this year’s collaboration is focusing more on data, statistics collection and management. Some stakeholders also spoke on the significance of the meeting to non-oil driver of the government. The inaugural meeting was sponsored by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council and the Commonwealth Secretariat, London.
