The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission,NCPC, has solicited the cooperation of the Federal Government in creating an enabling environment for pilgrimage activities to thrive in Nigeria.
The Executive Secretary, NCPC, Rev Yakubu Pam stated this while addressing newsmen at the State House shortly after a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to brief him on the activities and mandate of the commission.
Rev Pam who spoke on the preparedness of the Commission to complete the 2023 Easter pilgrimage exercise to Israel and Jordan which was temporarily put on hold due to the economy challenges noted that the commission is expecting the support of the Federal Government in pilgrims sponsorship.
He also spoke on some of the activities of the Commission especially as it relates to abscoundment.
Rev Pam further averred that the Commission in addition to its statutory mandate of supervising, coordinating, licensing and regulating Christian pilgrimage activities in Nigeria is also using its platform to engender peace across the country
