Ministry Of Interior Unveils INTERAS As Official Name For Enterprise Content Management System.

The Ministry of Interior has officially unveiled INTERAS as the name for its Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS).

The announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, during the performance contract signing ceremony for the Ministry’s directors.

Dr. Ajani commended the high level of creativity and engagement shown across departments during the internal naming competition designed to give the ECMS a unique and culturally resonant identity.

” With INTERAS now formally named, we begin the journey towards the full launch of the ECMS,” Dr. Ajani said. “This marks a significant step in our drive towards efficient, paperless governance ensuring transparency, accountability, and improved service delivery.”

The Press and Public Relations Department and the Internal Audit Department emerged as joint winners of the naming competition. The departments and the individual staff who submitted the winning entry were recognized and rewarded for their exceptional contributions to the project.

The naming ceremony coincided with an internal retreat for the review of the 2024 Employees Performance Management System (EPMS), culminating in the signing of the 2025 Performance Contract under the theme: Delivering Results for National Security: Performance Programmes and the Path Forward”.

During the session, which took place from July 28 to 31, 2025, Dr. Ajani emphasized the need for clear, measurable performance standards to enhance public service delivery.

She reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to the full implementation of the Ministerial Performance Management System (MPMS), stressing the importance of aligning departmental activities and individual roles with national performance goals.

“The ultimate aim is transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government,” she stated.

Dr. Ajani also announced that the revalidation of 2024 performance targets would ensure the timely completion of first and second quarter appraisals for 2025, while reinforcing alignment with MPMS deliverables in preparation for the upcoming Head of Service Performance Retreat.

Earlier, the Chief Executive and Lead Consultant of Zimedy Services, Engr. Usen Udoh, explained that the Ministry is aligning departmental activities with standardized Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve productivity, transparency, and citizen satisfaction key goals of the ongoing Federal Civil Service reforms.

Also speaking at the event, Mrs. Funmilola Salawu, representing the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, praised the Ministry for its strong commitment to institutionalizing the Performance Management System.

She noted that the Ministry’s four-day internal review featuring intensive refresher courses and departmental performance reviews demonstrated a significant shift toward accountability. Directors defended their 2024 results before signing renewed contracts for 2025.

“This process ensures that departmental heads fully understand and own their commitments, marking a major milestone in embedding PMS into the Ministry’s operations,” she said.
