The Defence Headquarters says that assertion by some malicious individuals that the military is involved in crude oil theft in the Niger Delta Region is ridiculous.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General, Edward Buba disclosed this at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja while updating news men on strides recorded by the Military in diverse operations across the six geopolitical zones of the Country.
He said the military has deployed strategic initiatives to arrest crude oil theft which has significantly boosted productions in recent times.
The DDMO, also spoke on strides recorded by troops in various theatres of operations since the beginning of 2024 which culminated in the elimination and arrest of terrorists as well as rescue of kidnapped hostages.
Gen. Buba however, assured that the military will continue to keep up the pressure on criminals to ensure the safety of lives and property.
