Lawyers,CSOs Demand Probe Of NNDPRA Boss Over Alleged Abuse Of Office.

A group of Concerned Lawyers and Civil Society in Defence of Public Trust have called for the resignation of the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Engineer Farouk Ahmed .

The group in a protest held at the NMDPRA headquarters in Abuja, accused Engr Ahmed of alleged abuse of office.

Addressing the protesters,the leader of the Group, Barr. Martins Adaji alleged that Ahmed diverted taxpayer money to cover tuition and boarding fees for his children at several high-cost schools Abroad.

The Group also demanded a full-scale investigation into the NMDPRA’s financial records.

The coalition while urging the government to act swiftly on its petition, also wants proceeds recovered from the probe to be channelled to rehabilitate schools in Nigeria’s most disadvantaged oil-producing communities.
