Few years ago, Nigeria embarked on the restructuring of its revenue allocation formula to create fairness, balance and equity in the amount shared among the three tiers of government. The exercise which was carried out and concluded by the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission was never adopted and implemented by the federal government. Addressing a news conference after his reappointment, the RMAFC Chairman, Elias Mbam said though the commission has the mandate to monitor both the inflow and outflow of revenue in the federation account, the issue of a realistic sharing formula will be revisit soon.
