The Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Prof Ishaq Oloyede has denied insinuations in the media indicating outrageous spending on Meals, Fumigation among others by the board in 2024.
Prof Oloyede had on Monday 13th January appeared before the joint committee of the National Assembly on Finance to defend the Board 2025 budget proposal.
Reacting to the development on a sideline of an event in Abuja, Oloyede who expressed surprise at the misrepresentation, clarified that the submitted provisions were mere budget proposals rather than expenditures already incurred by the board in 2024.
Defending the expenditures as captured in the 2025 budget estimate, the JAMB boss said it represents compliance with the budget information management monitoring system for government owned enterprise.
He further reacted on the clamour for downward review of UTME registration fee. Prof Oloyede expressed willingness to appear before the committee of the National Assembly to provide further clarifications.
