INEC To Launch new Online Portal As Political Party application Hit 129.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced further progress in the processing of applications from associations seeking registration as political parties, bringing the total number of applications received to 129.

According to a statement by Sam Olumekun,National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Public Relations made available to newsmen in Abuja, the commission in its weekly meeting confirmed the receipt of seven additional applications within the past week. All submissions are currently under review.

The National Commissioner also disclosed that INEC is set to launch a new Political Party Registration Portal a module within its existing Party Financial Reporting and Auditing System (PFRAS). This digital platform is designed to streamline the registration process, replacing the previous manual method with a faster and more efficient system.

He also confirmed that the final testing of the portal will be completed within the next week. Upon successful deployment, detailed guidelines for filing applications will be issued, and eligible associations will be invited to proceed to the next application stage.

Meanwhile, INEC has uploaded the names of the new associations seeking registration on its website and social media platforms for public access.
