INEC Set To Achieve Balanced Voters Distribution Before 2023 Elections- Yakubu

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC says it will continue to deploy innovations to improve the nation’s electoral process.INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu gave the indication at a meeting with a delegation from the European Union Election Observation Mission held at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.Yakubu explained that several reforms by the commission including deployment of innovations for conduct of election and creation of additional polling units were initiated from the recommendations by the EU election observation mission and like-minded organizations after the conduct of the 2019 general elections.He expressed optimism that some of the lapses observed in recently conducted Elections would be addressed before the 2023 general election.Earlier, the leader of the delegation and EU chief election observer, Maria Arena assured of the body’s unwavering support to the nation’s electoral process.The meeting which later transited into a close door session is expected to deliberated on the new electoral support Programme recently launched by the EU ahead of the 2023 general elections.
