The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented Certificates of Return to the Edo State governor-elect, Senator Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami The INEC National Commissioner, Prof. Kunle Ajayi, presented the certificates at the commissions headquarters in Abuja.
Prof. Ajayi commended the Ondo electorates for a peaceful election and insisted on the commitment of INEC to the delivery of free and fair, credible elections in Nigeria. In his remarks, Aiyedatiwa promised to work for the people of the state, while also thanking them for giving him and his deputy their mandate.
The Governor Elect and his deputy were accompanied to the INEC headquarters by Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state, National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje and other NEC members of the party, Ondo state National Assembly Caucus and other political big wigs from the southwest state.
Aiyedatiwa defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Agboola Ajayi and 15 other candidates to emerge the winner of the electoral contest. End.
