The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun has facilitated with Nigerians on the Christmas and forthcoming New Year Celebration.
The IGP in the spirit of the season has ordered all Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders to deploy adequate personnel and resources throughout the length and breadth of the country including recreational and picnic centres to protect funseekers who are out for the festive celebrations.
The Police boss who gave the directive at a meeting with Tactical Commanders, including Commanders of the Police Mobile Force, Border Patrol Force, Safer Highway etc.on Tuesday, 19th December, 2023 in Abuja, re-echoed same instruction at a similar meeting with the intelligence units of the Force on Thursday.
A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi also indicates that the Police would be having its Christmas Carol and Service of 9 Lessons on Friday 22nd December 2023 at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja.
The carol will have in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life including the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen George Akume; Senate President, HE Senator Godswill Akpabio; Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Geidam; Chairman Police Service Commission, Dr Solomon Arase; Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Musa, amongst others.
