The Nigeria Police Force has promoted and decorated 24 Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police. Decorating the newly promoted officers at the Force headquarters in Abuja, Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba restated the commitment of the force to reposition it’s operations inline with current dynamics of crime and security threats in the country. The Police boss however charged the newly promoted officers to bring their wealth of experience in the discharge of their new responsibilities. The occassion was attended by dignitaries including the Minister of Police Affairs Muhammad Dinyadi who in their remarks called for more professional policing across the country. Meanwhile, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Felix Vwamhi who spoke on behalf of the newly promoted officers assured of efforts to discharge their duties without fear or favour. The occasion is coming at a time the Police Service Commission recently approved the promotion of 167 police officers to the next rank. End.
