African leaders have been tasked on need to give priority to issues of Immunization.
The Director, Disease Control and Immunization, National Primary Health Care Development Agency and Chairperson of the African Vaccination Week Dorothy Nwodo made the call at an Immunization Stakeholders forum in Abuja.
She said the gesture will compliment existing initiatives targeted at bringing about solutions to Vaccine Preventable Diseases in the region.
Meanwhile, Representative of World Health Organization, Fiona Braka in her remarks, commended the Nigerian government for its efforts towards tackling Vaccine Preventable Diseases .
Highlights of the event includes decoration as well as presentation of certificates to Vaccine Heroes in Nigeria.
Some of the awardees includes Dangote Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, among other individuals.
