The Concerned Citizens Network of Nigeria (CCNN) has called for a transparent and independent investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds by the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed.
President of CCNN, Dr. Emmanuel Agibi, made the call at a press conference in Abuja.
Agibi, who emphasized the need for accountability, noted that the case would serve as a crucial test of President Bola Tinubu’s anti-corruption and transparency agenda.
The group, responding to attempts by NMDPRA to dismiss the allegations, urged the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to carry out a full-scale investigation.
Agibi further warned that continued silence from the relevant authorities risked damaging the credibility of the President and undermining his administration’s reform efforts.
End.
