Governor Ododo Urges Kogi Residents To Strengthen Intelligence Sharing With Security Agencies.

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on residents across the state to intensify collaboration with security agencies by providing credible intelligence to aid the ongoing fight against criminal elements.

The Governor made the call over the weekend during a stopover at Gegu community, in Kogi Local Government Area, where he was warmly received by residents who turned out in large numbers to welcome him from his recent national engagements.

According to a statement issued in Abuja by Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Ododo commended the people of Gegu for their unity, communal spirit, and commitment to peace, describing these qualities as essential pillars for effective community policing and overall state security.

“I appreciate you all for your love, unity, and commitment to peace. Our communities must remain vigilant and work closely with security agencies to keep Kogi safe,” Governor Ododo stated.

He urged residents to promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals that may pose a threat to public safety, emphasizing that security is a shared responsibility.

“If you see something, say something. Intelligence is the lifeline of security, and every citizen has a role to play. We will not allow criminals to take shelter among us,” he warned.

The Governor highlighted the importance of timely information sharing between communities and security operatives, stressing that such cooperation has been central to the progress recorded in securing the state.

“We have made significant progress in securing our state, and we must not relent. This administration will continue to provide all necessary support to our security agencies to protect lives and property,” he added.

Governor Ododo, who is on a working visit to the Yagba Federal Constituency following recent reports of security concerns in the area, assured residents that the state government will continue to bolster logistics, intelligence, and inter-agency coordination to ensure sustained peace and order across all communities.

He also called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and youth groups to act as the first line of defence by volunteering timely and accurate intelligence that can support efforts to prevent crime and bring perpetrators to justice.
