The former National Woman Leader of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Honourable Kayauta Yakubu, has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The defection took place at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, where Yakubu was formally received by the APC National Woman Leader, Dr. Mary Alile-Idele, alongside party officials, supporters, and the APC Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Danladi Ibrahim.
Speaking on behalf of the APC National Chairman, Dr. Alile-Idele described Yakubu’s defection as a move to a progressive and inclusive political platform, noting that the growing membership of the APC reflects increasing public confidence in the party’s leadership and direction.
In her remarks, Hon. Kayauta Yakubu said her decision to return to the APC was driven by the desire to contribute to national development and strengthen grassroots political mobilisation.
The return of the Kuje-born politician is expected to further strengthen the APC ahead of the forthcoming Area Council elections.
