FG Urged To Establish Simulation Centres,As TETFund Adhoc Committee Submits Report.

The Federal Government has been urged to establish medical simulation centres in the six geo political zones and also incorporate medical simulation in the nations education curriculum.

This is part of the recommendation by the adhoc committee on medical simulation and innovation interventions set up by Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund.

Presenting the report to the TETFund management in Abuja, chairman of the committee, Prof Wale Sulaiman called for urgent modernisation of medical practices in Nigeria including substantial investment in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, to transform patient diagnostics and treatment.

He further called for more investments in medical simulations to enhance Nigeria’s capacity to address the disease burdens in the country.

Receiving the report, the chairman, TETFund Board of Trustees, Alhaji Aminu Masari commended members of the committee for their diligence, stating that AI is the future and Nigeria could not be left behind.

Other findings of the committee pegged the estimated cost of setting up each simulation centre between N4 to N6 billion, subject to inflationary trends.
