The Federal Government has disclosed plans to build eight state-of-the-art medical simulation centers across the country to enhance medical education and training.
This is as the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa inaugurated a 19-member Implementation and Monitoring Committee for Medicals Simulation Centers, chaired by renowned neurosurgeon Prof. Wale Sulaiman.
Inaugurating the committee in Abuja, Alausa said the simulation centres will improve patient safety, reduce medical errors, and increase the number of skilled healthcare professionals in Nigeria.
Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Arch Sonny Echono
who noted that the initiative is part of the federal government vision of making Nigeria a hub of medical excellence, said it is a modern trend in medical education widely adopted in developed countries to train both students and practicing professionals.
On his part, Chairman of the committee,Prof. Wale Sulaiman, assured of efforts to ensure the successful implementation of the simulation centers.
The simulation centers are designed to provide a realistic and immersive learning environment for medical students and healthcare professionals, allowing them to practice and hone their skills in a safe and controlled setting.
