FG Launches Transport Track of MSMEs Survival Fund, Scores Programme High

The Nigerian government has formally launch the Transport Track of the Artisans and Transport scheme under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Survival Fund and Guaranteed Offtake Schemes. This is barely two months after the Artisans Track of the scheme was unveiled on 1st October, 2020. Speaking at the event Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment Mariam Katagum said qualified individuals operating in the Transport sector will get a one-off grant of N30, 000 from the seventy-five billion Naira Survival Fund. The Minister, Represented by the Director, Industrial Development Department of the Ministry, Adewale Bakare said the amount would be paid directly into the account of Ride share drivers, taxi drivers, bus drivers, tricycle riders, commercial motorcycle riders, cart pushers among others. The Special Assistant to the President on MSMEs, Tola Johnson and some beneficiaries spoke on the journey far. The MSMEs Survival Fund and Guaranteed Offtake Schemes, is part of government’s Economic Sustainability Plans to support and sustain the livelihood of vulnerable small businesses and self-employed individuals, mostly affected by the shock of the Covid-19 pandemic.
