FG Committed To Make Nigerian Graduates More Employable- Adejo

The Federal Government has welcomed the idea that promotes African graduate employability through skills acquisition and entrepreneurship.

Speaking at the 2023 African Centre for Career Enhancement and Skills Support International Summer School and Conference in Abuja,the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education David Adejoh commended the ACCESS initiative especially as it devises strategies to ensure tnstitutions train persons that are not only fit for the labour market but would also find job placements.

Adejoh said the recent unveiled Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS) for 17 academic disciplines and over 220 programmes in the NUS places much emphasis on soft skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, venture creation and digital literacy in view of the labour market expectations in the 21st Century.

Meanwhile, the Acting NUC Executive Secretary Chris Maiyaki in his welcome remarks said the 2023 edition of the ACCESS conference provides an avenue to share best practices and evidence-based insights that will help promote the employability and career trajectory of graduates from African institutions.

Other speakers in their presentations applied the timing of the conference.

The Africa Centre for Career Enhancement and Skills Support (ACCESS) with seven partner universities across six African countries and Germany, was established in 2020 to seek innovative ways to promote the employability of African graduates.
