FG Commits To Train Teachers On Digital Skills For Students.

The Federal Government says it is committed to upscale the quality of Technical education in public secondary schools and Technical colleges in Nigeria.

This is as the education ministry is poised to to equip technical teachers in the country with skills, knowledge and attitudes required to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman gave the indication at the Annual Sensitization meeting of Stakeholders of Technical Teachers Training Programme held in Abuja.

The Minister who affirmed that technical teachers are the bedrock of the nations education system indicated the resolve to empower them to deliver high quality education that fosters on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.

Prof Mamman went further to highlight some of the gains of the TTTP initiative especially in the area of skills development. Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, ministry of Education, Dr Nasir Gwarzo represented by a director, Abubakar Isah applauded the gathering saying it brings to the fore, the urgent need to equip students with the skills, competencies, and expertise required to thrive in an increasingly complex and technologically advanced world.

The theme of the conference is ” Developing 21st Century Technical Teachers: Preparing for the Future”.
