Members of the ECOWAS Parliament have been called upon to explore the opportunities presented by Artificial Intelligence (AI) to boost parliamentary efficiency in order to strengthen accountability, promote democracy and development in the West African sub region.
The regional legislators were rallied to intensify their efforts on the use of AI during the opening session the Second Parliamentary seminar of the ECOWAS Parliament at its 2025 Extraordinary Session with theme, “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Parliamentary Efficiency, Ethical Governance and Development in the ECOWAS Region.”
The Seminar, which commenced in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital on Monday, was replete with profound commitment as the lawmakers gathered in the oil-rich city to find ways to deepen growth in critical sectors of the region using AI for a digitally inclusive and empowered region.
