Ebonyi State, Governor David Umahi says over N80b has been expended in the establishment of the new medical science university, King David University of Medical Sciences located in Uburu, Ebonyi State.
Umahi said this at a working visit to the headquarters of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund TETFund in Abuja.
The Governor said the new university named after him by President Mohammadu Buhari would required a take off grant from TETFund to fast track ongoing projects.
Umahi further commended the TETFund executive secretary for his unwavering support to the nations university System through various infrastructural interventions.
On his part, the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arch Sonny Echono commended the governor for the many transformation he has brought to the state saying it has become a standard bearer for measuring public service. Echono promised to work with the g
overnor to ensure that the state as well as the country benefit from the new university.
President Buhari during a visit to Ebonyi state 2 months ago promised that the federal government would take over the university which happens to be the only medical sciences tertiary institution in the south east state.
