Don’t Bow To Pressure Over US Threat To Gay Rights, Group To Buhari.

The stance by the United States of America to impose financial and visa sanctions on Nigeria and other nation’s over anti gay Laws have continued to attract reactions from across the country. For the National Inter- Faith and Religious Organization for Peace, the US policy for the entrenchment of the rights for Lesbians,gays, bisexual, transgender and queer is questionable and infringes on the sovereignty of nation’s including Nigeria. Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the leadership of the Group represented by Bishop Ugokwe Prince wondered why the US which brand itself as God’s own country would encourage a policy that runs contrary to biblical injunctions . Throwing their support on the federal government anti gay law, the group advised president mohammadu Buhari not to bow to pressure through threats of sanction. They however cautioned president Joe Biden on implementation of policies that affect the sovereignty of other nation’s of the world.
