The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has released the scorecard of Nigerian troops onslaughts against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and others in 2024, revealing that about 3,151 terrorists were neutralized by troops of Operation Hadin Kai in 2024.
This is as 2,503 terrorists were arrested,16,171 others surrendered with 1,605 kidnapped hostages rescued.
Director, Defense Media Operations Major General Edward Buba, disclosed this while briefing defense correspondents on the successes achieved by the Armed Forces of Nigeria from January to December 2024.
According to General Buba, the feat also led to the killing of top terrorist commanders in their safe haven including Sambisa Forest and Timbuktu triangle.
The Defence media spokesman further gave a breakdown of troops engagements in the North central and northwest.
General Buba also indicated that troops of Operation Delta safe denied oil theft of over 56 million liters of crude oil in the south-south and also Neutralized 734 members of ESN and IPOB in the southeast.
He cited arms recovered in the various operations to include 4,053 AK47 rifles, 1,123 locally fabricated guns, 731 dane guns and 240 pump action guns as well as assorted ammunition.
