Crisis Rocks Permanent Secretary appointments As HOS Gets Multiple Court Orders.

The process of appointing new permanent secretaries to fill existing vacancies in the federal civil service has been rocked by multiple litigations against the Head of Service, Dr Folasade Esan.

Report indicates that some directors were alleged prevented from taking part in the selection process,a development that informed their decision to go to court .

The aggrieved directors approached the National Industrial Court of Nigeria with motion ex-parte seeking to be allowed to participate in the permanent secretary selection process as well as carry out the other processes Justice OA Obaseki-Osaghae in her ruling ordered the Head of Service to open up the selection process and allow the claimants to participate in the written examination on relevant Public Service and policy issues scheduled to take place on Monday 21st February 2022, or any other day, and the subsequent Processes.

The Head of Service was also mandated to open up the IPPIS Portal and Print IPPIS on-line update Confirmation Slip belonging to the affected directors having completed and submitted the requisite forms to the Defendant.

Counsel to the aggrieved directors, Bemdoo Hassan spoke to journalists after the court proceedings.

Report indicates that the Head of Service had allegedly ordered the immediate stoppage of salaries of aggrieved directors including 243 affected staff directing that the portal remain short until April 2022.
