Court Fixes Dec.14 To Hear Kanu’s Case Challenging His Arrest In Kenya

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned till December 14 to hear a suit filed by the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu against his arrest and repatriation from Kenya to Nigeria by the Federal Government.

In the suit Kanu filed through his team of lawyers led by Mike Ozekhome is asking the court to declare what the lawyers termed abduction and extraordinary rendition of their client illegal and unconstitutional and that it is against international law on repatriation.

After Kanu’s counsel informed the court of his motion seeking for extension of time to file all necessary processes, the presiding judge justice Inyang Ekwo ordered that the substantive suit will be heard at next adjourned date.

On the other hand, the court struck out a suit instituted by the separatist agitator against the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court John Tsoho on secret trial of terrorism charges policy of the court.

The court struck out the suit following it’s withdrawal by the plaintiff counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor.

Justice Ekwo has adjourned till December 14 to hear the Kanu’s Suit which lawyers say if it goes in his favour will nullify the terrorism charges pending at the court.
