Buhari To Assume Presidency Of PAAGGW.

President Muhammadu Buhari is to assume the presidency of the heads of state and governments of the Pan-African Agency of the Great Green Wall (PAAGGW) later this year. Minister of Environment, Mahmood Abubakar who disclosed while speaking to newsmen in Abuja, on the progress made by the ministry also explained that President Buhari’s appointment was based on the belief of his capacity to take the organization programme delivery to a higher level. He further disclosed plans by Nigeria to host the eighth PAAGGW ministers’ meeting, as well as the fifth summit of the heads of state and government of the GGW in 2021. The interface was not just about the PAAGGW as the minister further gave update on the ongoing clean-up efforts in the South-South region of the country. He further assured that the restoration and management of the areas currently undergoing cleanup, as well as the stoppage of re-pollution of such areas remains one of the top agendas of the president Buhari’s administration.
